The Antidote to the Big Airport

Thomas Pawling built a two-story hotel at the northeast corner of East Baltimore and North Washington streets in 1859. Drivers of horse-drawn Conestoga wagons, train, and stagecoach passengers, and livestock dealers frequented the hotel. At one point, it house a billiard parlor and a vaudeville and motion picture theatre. Now the building is home to a popular family-style restaurant, the Antrim House Family Restaurant owned by the Hummer Family. For hours and directions, call (717) 597-8111.

Located on the grounds of Mercersburg Academy is a lovely museum for model railroad enthusiasts. The John B. McFadden Model Railroad Museum is the result of the combination of several privately owned collections into one location. Be sure to visit the museum's web site for more information.

The James Buchanan Hotel & Restaurant are tucked away in the historic town or Mercersburg, PA. Housed on the land purchased by James Buchanan Sr. in 1796, the hotel and restaurant cater to the road-weary traveler looking for a history-laden location to rest.
