The Antidote to the Big Airport

Lancaster County, while widely known for its Amish population, offers visitors a wide gambit of other activities. Shopping, wineries, railroad rides and many other attractions await the curious tourist.

Have you ever dreamed of experiencing life the way the Amish do? The Amish Country Homestead can make that dream come true! The museum offers an accurate interpretation of how the Amish live and work today. Each guided tour lasts about 45 minutes; hours and ticket costs are available online.

Children will be delighted to explore the numerous experiences and avenues for their creativity available to them at the Hands-On House. This children's museum is dedicated to helping kids learn and have fun while they do so! More information and hours of operation are available at www.handsonhouse.org.

When you are done entertaining the kids at the Hands-On House, take a quick jaunt across the street to Landis Valley Museum. This Pennsylvania Dutch Living History museum & village is the largest of its kind in the country. Landis Valley interprets German Heritage from 1740-1940, including but not limited to tours and traditional craft demonstrations.
